Always look at the bright side of things. Stomachs can fit A LOT of juice inside them. I also gained a lot of confidence in myself.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Professors were willing to answer questions in class. The classes themselves were very relaxed.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program works very hard to make sure students feel comfortable. They had a What's App group for exchange students to chat in.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Cafe downstairs in the hostel! Loved it! Wonderful view.

* Food:

Penang is the place to eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Because I didn't try to stick just to exchange student friends, I was able to make many connections with local students. Many of whom I'm still in touch with!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Loved it! THe food and massages were so cheap. THe people were so kind.

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Malaysia is a really cheap place to live. It's super simple to live like a queen even on a tight budget.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't be afraid to walk long distances, take public transportation. Also, don't eat out too much- grocery shopping always proves to be cheaper.
