Direct Enrollment/Exchange

|
Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Yes. Everything to gain, nothing to lose."

"It was the best thing I have ever done, and even though I am still working my way back financially, I will never regret it. I now feel as though I can do anything and go anywhere which is a feeling I would not have if it wasn't for this trip. I gained an awareness of the world which is a humbling feeling. Knowing that there i..."

"The learning experience from my study abroad program was probably a once in a lifetime experience. I learned how to live independently without ever having had that experience in my life before. I feel that I could have been more prepared for the occasion, and more experience would have helped in this preparedness. Also, I wish t..."

"I'm glad I went on this international exchange. It was an amazing experience. It was just really good to have gone to a different university in a different country. And Ewha is one of the best schools in Korea. I postponed my spring graduation to the summer so I could go on this exchange and I'm very glad I did. It's a very diff..."

"My study abroad experience was totally worthwhile. I met new people, I experienced a new culture, I learned a new language, and I learned so much history at the same time. I encourage everyone to go to Spain because it is an experience that one will never forget."

"Yes, I gained a greater appreciation of exploring the world."
Jeremy University of Hawaii - Manoa
"It was definitely worthwhile. I learned how to be more independent and adventurous, as well as studying at a great university. By the time I left I felt completely English and not like an American at all. In the future, I definitely want to try and move back to the UK."

Jun Rice University
"It was the most worthwhile experience of my life. Not only did I greatly improve my Spanish skills, but I had the chance to live like an Argentine for 5 months. The relationships I developed with Argentines expanded my world view, and helped me view history and various world events from a different perspective. Furthermore, s..."

"It was totally worthwile, it was a fantastic experience in which I managed to see a lot of Japan's beautiful and famous sites as well as meet a lot of great people. My Japanese improved as well, and I think that it helped prepare me for the JET program, which I plan on doing once I graduate."
Marcus A Tulane University
"The language pledge is serious, making the overall environment of the program very intense. You choose this program to learn Chinese, not to have a fun study abroad experience. My Chinese speaking ability improved dramatically. However, despite living in Beijing I did not feel I experienced the city. The administrators t..."

"Yes, I gained alot, mainly a better view on America even though I went to Japan. "
Anis M New Mexico State University
"Definitely worthwhile. If I weren't so caught up in things at my home university I would go back and do this same exact program again (and again). Of course, it helped to give me a more global perspective on many things. I feel incredibly enriched and blessed to have gotten to participate."
Stephen P Rice University
"I really enjoyed my time abroad. Some of my best experiences came from after the program ended however - I stayed for an extra couple weeks to try to live on my own. I would highly recommend doing so, as it gives you the opportunity to use what you learned from the program and apply it to getting by without much assistance. "
David C Rice University
"Even with the parts I didn't like, it was a great and worthwhile experience, as it would have been where ever I went. I went with a positive outlook and I had a positive experience, and I met a lot of amazing people and saw a lot of amazing things."
Kristin M Tulane University
"I would recommend study abroad for everyone. I learned so much in Japan. Not just about Japan but about the world from all the international students I met! You learn so much about how the rest of the world lives. When you're inside America, you think the whole world lives like that but they don't and it's no wonder sometime..."

"I love my study abroad program. I really think it was worthwhile to go abroad. I worked in a 7-11 store while there, and I was able to become friends with fellow co-workers too. There may have been the biggest place I learned culturally. I gained many friends too, and many experiences. "
jennifer i University of Hawaii - Manoa
"I have gained new insight into my career goals and life dreams. I have friends in 4 timezones, who speak more languages than is prudent to count. I plan to continue studying, and I now have a greater sense of direction. "
Stefany W Providence College
"It was fabulous. It is one of the most enriching, fun, and exciting times of my life. I learned how to be self reliant, I learned alot of Spanish, I learned about diferent cultures, and I met lifelong friends from all over the world. "
