Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I think it was amazing I grew in my self confidence because its something you need to have here to interact with the people, especially when in addition to not knowing anyone, you don't know the language, it can cost some people a lot to try and talk to others. but once you do you make great friends and you know, its really not..."

"My abroad experience has impacted my cultural awareness tremendously. I have come to realize that, no matter where in the world you are, people all share the same fears and hopes. It is wonderful to learn that no matter how different people are, we all share some of the most basic things about ourselves. "

"DEFINITELY WORTHWHILE. Studying abroad was the best thing that ever happened to me. I learned so much in and out of school. As far as graphic design, I really got into illustration while I was there and I think that could be my niche! In NZ, I got to explore and I grew so much as a person. i definitely want to travel there again..."

"Yes. I learned how the European political system operates, as well as a good understanding of European culture. I visited sites that were important, yet that not other students were rearing to visit (like a replica of Rodin's "The Thinker"). Overall, it has helped my ability to engage with people of other cultures. "

"I learned more about myself, about confidence, about European culture and language. I also have to say that I learned as much as culture and experiences in the 2 weeks of my spring break trip as I did in the 4+ months I was in Dijon. Once you have the travel bug in you, your itching to go again, make new adventures, and have you..."

"Absolutely. It sounds sentimental, but this was, without doubt, the best year of my life. I hope to live in the United Kingdom (and/or Ireland) again at some point in the future, either for work or for grad school. I feel that I have a good understanding of the United Kingdom, England in particular, and a much greater understand..."

"I found a passion for teaching abroad. Working at a local school where most students don't make it past 8th grade showed me how fortunate I was and inspired me to make every second of my time with them encouraging, empowering, and eye-opening. I wanted to teach them so much but in the process they taught me more than I could hav..."

"It gave me a chance to experience for the first time Japanese culture. But now only that, I ended up making friends with people from other countries as well which is very interesting and has helped me become more aware of different cultures."
Maria Carolinna M The University of Texas at Austin
"I am definitely more culturally aware now. My study abroad experience was worthwhile. I would have liked to take a language course while I was over there, so that I could communicate with the local people better.
