Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I really liked the experience, but I felt it could have been better"
Emma W Wellesley College
"Studying at UCL did not change my academic interests but rather strengthened them. I got to take a graduate level class and I loved it. I am now more passionate about computer science and have a more focused academic path. My stay in London was without any doubt mind opening. I'd been to several countries before but this city fe..."

"Yes, this experience has been very worthwhile. I have spent 9 months away from home in a foreign environment. I have met many cool people. Honestly, don't rely on learning from the academic side of UB, but instead, learn from living abroad and from other people. I am leaving UB in two weeks and feel like i could have done more h..."

"I would absolutely do this study abroad again if I had the chance and I plan on returning to Australia as soon as possible. It's such a large country with so many beautiful places to see! I gained exceptional communicational skills due to the fact that I was living with non native english speakers and it's funny, although Austra..."

"I gained a very strong sense of independence and confidence in my self - reliance. Being abroad constantly puts you in situations where you just have to figure something out on your own in a totally new country without knowing anyone frequently. It changed my life and calmed me down. I don't worry about things as much and hav..."

"I learned about myself through the people I met and the places I visited. I learned more about my religion and why it is important to me. I also learned that I don't enjoy hikes in the desert during August! I know so much more about the issues Israelis face within their country and with the Middle East. They are amazing human be..."
Lani W Salisbury University
"My experience was very worthwhile. I noted the downfalls because I believe other students should have an idea of what they're getting themselves into, but none of the pitfalls were a huge problem for me. I enjoyed my classes, loved the country, and made amazing friends. I highly recommend a similar experience to other culturally..."
Sarah K Middlebury College
"I learned how to cook, learned about different cultures, different foods, and what it's like to live in less than ideal housing. It was important in learning to deal with situations and made me realize how much I take my school for granted. I met some great friends and traveled with them around Europe after my program ended. "
Jon M Olin College
"Yes. I got to live in a whole new country for four months. I met friends I know I will forever keep. I was taken out of my comfort zone and forced to spend such a long period of time with complete strangers in a country different from America."
Ashley K Wellesley College
"I think what really made this study abroad experience worthwhile was my host family. They were all I could ask for in a host family, and I wouldn't have traded them for any other host family or dorm/apartment stay. "
Travis S University of the Pacific
"It was the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I grew to really understand my passion for the language. It has encouraged me to return to get my masters and to possibly teach English"
