Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.
Study Abroad with Direct Enrollment/Exchange
"It was definitely worth it. I learned an indescribable amount about different cultures, sports, languages, weather, geography, currency, history etc..."
A student Oklahoma State University - Stillwater
"It was definitely worthwhile - I think the most significant thing I gained was a greater perspective on my field. I'm an English major, and having four months to explore and study the UK in person, physically visiting locales from stories I read, added a new layer to my perception I didn't have before. "
A student The College of William and Mary
"Gained a lot of independence and got to spend time in a beautiful city, so yes overall experience was worthwhile. "
A student The College of William and Mary

"The things that I learned from my experience abroad is to understand how it is to live and study in a different environment and atmosphere. I felt that I have grown as a person and am more independent. I also see my own country in a different perspective. I am more appreciative of certain things we take for granted here in the U..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"It was totally worthwhile, but this program's academic system is not so pleasing. The school admin is very messed up. Not flexible with dates and absences."
伊晴 孙 The College of William and Mary
"I learnt about different cultures, how to function on my own in a foreign country and how to be even more independent- even though I've been abroad on my own before"
A student Barnard College
"I gained insight into the perspectives and experiences of an entirely different population than my own. While I did not go somewhere that required that I use a foreign language, I was able to take classes on subjects I had studied at home, but explore them from a completely different perspective. Through studies and travels, I..."
A student Barnard College
"I learned that I, and only I, am the only one in the way of my own progression. Regardless of what I liked and disliked about the program, the experience I had in St Andrews, Scotland is a reflection of my own choices. If I could go back, I definitely would! With maybe a few tweaks here and there, but overall I am so glad I did ..."
A student The College of William and Mary

"I was able to learn about many cultures, not just Japan. I also got the chance to understand the culture a lot more by living it rather than hearing about it. There's some things you don't learn about by just watching television shows or reading books about it."
