Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"It's really changed my outlook on life to a more positive one. I've met and talked to people from countries I would never have been able to in the US. And even if I could, they would probably be in a much different mindset. Meeting people from other countries in a neutral place is a great way to see all the cultural differences...."
Mathieu G The University of Texas at Austin
"I can't put into words how much I've learned. How different education systems, people, cultures, histories,... everything are. I met amazing people who wanted to discuss and share their world, saw amazing places, had a few mishaps here and there... and absolutely nothing I would change."
Alexis C The University of Texas at Austin

Cassie H Indiana University - Bloomington
"I learned an amazing amount about myself and what I want from life as well as just how much I can actually accomplish all on my own because I really was all alone at the start of the year. I also gained an appreciation for just how widely diverse our world is even in a country like England where they speak the same language. I ..."
Chelsea F Sarah Lawrence College
"I gained an understanding and confidence in myself. I learned more about myself in 6 months abroad than in 3 years in University. I know I can overcome certain obstacles."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"I definitely learned how to have a good attitude. "It is what you make of it." One of the Americans that went was really disappointed upon arriving. I think he made himself have a bad time by not wanting to meet new people or adjust to a different way of living. I think any situation can be turned around if you don't have so..."
A student University of Wisconsin - Stout
"Yes! I had such a great time and it was an amazing break from Wellesley. I got to travel and see more of Europe and also visit my family in England. I made some amazing friends both from the U.K. and around the world. Everyone should go abroad! Don't be afraid of what you are missing at Wellesley. "
A student Wellesley College
"YES, so worthwhile! I found out that I love field geology and field mapping, and I got to hang out with future geologists/miners/oilfield engineers. My experience abroad put me on a completely new path, one that branches in a thousand directions. It really opened up a world of possibilities for me. "
A student Wellesley College
"I got to travel an entire country and see every terrain possible. It was definitely worthwhile and I would highly suggest anyone to go to NZ. I learned a lot about the culture and the great outdoors. I loved that it is not very populated. The open country and mountains made the experience amazing! "
