Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I learnt how to thrive in an immensely rigorous environment away from my comfort zone."
Adjoa K Wellesley College
"I learned how to experience other cultures more, and I grew more comfortable being my true self all the time. "
A student Trinity University
"I learned a lot about myself; turns out I am very impatient when traveling and can get very hangry when I haven't had food. I am also more able than I thought, and can figure out how to get through just about anything."
jane.linde.9 Trinity University
"I gained an appreciation for one of the coolest cities I had ever been to, and I got to understand SIngapore's unique culture. That said, the best part of the program was the travel opportunities it provided, as Singapore is perfectly located as a home base to explore South-East Asia"

"This was honestly a dream come true. I have always wanted to go to Korea, and through this trip I accomplished so many dreams that I never thought would one day come true. I also learned a lot about myself, and that I am stronger than I was before I left. It also made me treasure what I have back at home as well. Korea will fore..."

"It was one of the most worthwhile experiences I have had in my life thus far. I learned so much; not only about myself, but about life in general. Its ups and downs, growth, friendship, and most of all, the beauty of the world that extends beyond your own hometown. "
Maureen C SUNY - Fashion Institute of Technology
"It was a great breather away from the States and it generally gave me a newer and different perspective on academics and life. "
Kwabea A Wellesley College
"My level of proficiency in German is now C1.2. That would be a monumental achievement in any other language, like Spanish or French. However, German is spoken almost exclusively in Central Europe and by people who are typically bilingual or even trilingual, which makes it much less useful than other foreign languages. I gaine..."
A student University of Maine - Orono
"I gained so much from this program, and most of that derived from the fact that the visiting students were very separated from the undergrads. I would usually describe myself as an ambivert with the heart of an extrovert, but the head of an introvert. It's very hard for me to be self-motivated to meet people and, initially when ..."

"I learned that life hands you moments, and that it is up to you to make the most of them. Scotland handed me some of the most memorable moments of my life, and if I could do it all over again I'd do it exactly the same. This was the best experience of my life to date, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet so m..."

"Life in Lebanon requires flexibility and adaptability along with amazing opportunities to enjoy life and to travel throughout the country and the region.Exploring the Middle East through living experiences can never be replaced by reading a book."
Genevieve H American University of Beirut
"I gained a lot of insight into the thinking of people in the UK, going in an election year was great. I think it was worthwhile because I got to do many things that a lot of people never get to do."
A student Baylor University
"YES IT WAS. I met so many great people. I really learned about myself in the process, too. Plus the country I stayed in was GORGEOUS and amazing and just plain awesome!"
Zak A Berea College
"I grew up overseas, so moving there wasn't too difficult nor was assimilating. What I think was particularly valuable was reminding myself to pretend to be confident even when I'm not. I think that is a key in life in general. "
A student Wellesley College
"I think at Wellesley I often get bogged down with stress and little homework assignments, but studying abroad I learned to use my time more efficiently since I wanted to spend less time studying and more time exploring. I also learned that I can learn the same amount and do just as well in school being a lot less stressed. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learnt so much in the subject and experienced a very different academic system, which encouraged self exploration and provided feedback about your study in depth."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned flexibility, understanding, a deeper understanding of cultural/religious/linguistic multiplicity and complexity, patience, language, independence, trust, and so much more. "
A student Syracuse University
"It was truly one of the greatest and most fulfilling experiences of my life. I learned more about myself and my personal and academic interests than I ever had before. I made lifelong friends from all different backgrounds. All in all, I grew immensely as a student and as a person by studying abroad at LSE"
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to be more confident and free."

"I really enjoyed my time abroad. Cambridge has a 6 week break in the middle of the semester that is a great travel opportunity. The classes also so rigorous that you can't fly out to somewhere during the week for a weekend getaway. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was very worthwhile. I learned a lot about traveling, adapting to new cultures, how to make new friends, and a lot about myself as well, and how I am actually quite comfortable being alone."
Cassandra B Loras College
"Being in Beirut - especially as someone who studies the Middle East and at this time - was an invaluable experience. Not only is the city itself fascinating, the people are extremely friendly and there is so much to learn from spending time in Beirut. Also, though AUB admittedly isn't the best with administrative procedures, e..."
