CIEE is a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization that transforms lives and builds bridges between individuals and nations by sponsoring a wide variety of opportunities for the exchange of ideas and experiences. CIEE helps people develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world, and contributes to a more peaceful global community by humanizing international relations.
CIEE partners with overseas universities to provide direct matriculation options, creates CIEE courses to add to the offerings, and staffs each Study Center with CIEE-employed Resident Staff who provide co-curricular activities and around-the-clock student services. We offer quality academics with opportunities for cultural engagement such as excursions, homestays, volunteer opportunities, and internships to provide the highest quality study abroad experiences.

Study Abroad with CIEE
"I feel like I have changed a lot. I've become much more independent and open-minded, willing to try new things, and more sensitive and aware of different perspectives and ways of life. One of the best things about this experience is that I really got to get out and see the world, undoubtedly something I will never forget."
Katelyn C Providence College
"It was the experience of a lifetime. I am much more interested in the world outside of America. Also, this experience has added interest in the field of international marketing. I realized how many opportunities American brands have to take their companies international."

"It was absolutley worthwhile. I learned so much about myself, my peers and the world around me. I have no desire to change my major but I do have an increased desire to travel more and to learn about different cultures. I learned so much about myself and I was able to see what I truly value. This experience really helped me to m..."

"Although I didn't give all of above the best ratings, but the overall experience was definitely worth the 5 star. Imagine yourself ..."

"I loved it. South Africa is awesome. I really want to go back. Going to Cape Town allowed me to explore Africa, which is probably the continent I will least likely get to travel to in the future (because everywhere else is easier and much more accessible to me). So I am glad I can check a region of the world of my list of places..."

"The program was worth it. personally for me the program did not push me outside my comfort zone, but this is dependent upon past international experience. The field trips were by far the best part of the program. We were able to see so much of the country and it makes me want to travel more within my home state/country. I must c..."

Kathleen S Trinity University
"Beyond my disappointment with the program and the homestay situation, the experience itself was invaluable. If my opportunity to live in a foreign country had to be via this program, so be it. Going abroad and adapting to a different lifestyle is life changing and would choose to do it all over again the same way if I had no o..."
