Yes. I am definitely more confident with traveling on my own and dealing with unfamiliar situations. Lynn G - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I absolutely think my experience was worthwhile! Of course there were times when its hard to be away from family, but having been home for 4 years now since my experience, all I can think about is my time in Scotland! Whether it's songs, scents, or even some sounds that trigger an experience, Scotland is always on my mind! The b... Samantha K - San Jose State University View Entire Review
Best experience of my life. i would go back to Scotland in a heart beat. Everyone I mjet was amazing and added something to my experience abroad. It also changed my outlook of life. Laurel J - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I LOVED my experience. I had the perfect combination of an urban co-ed environment in a wonderful city, with great classes that I wouldn't otherwise have been able to take at Wellesley. I lived with great girls and made wonderful friends all over the globe. I have an affinity for Scotland and hope to go back for graduate studies... Samantha K - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was interesting being in a country where you are the minority. I met lots of interesting people, made lifelong friends, saw amazing places, and managed to go to class a few times along the way. I want to go back and travel more. My academic interests didn't really change. I took think more as a cultural experience than an... Rebecca H - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
Absolutely. My future plans already include a trip back next summer to visit my friends and old familiar places and my further future plans could include and job and home there. I was worried when I first went that Scotland would be too much like "America" and I wasn't choosing the most exotic location but I couldn't have been h... Completely worthwhile. I definitely became more independent and more willing to try different things that I wasn't used to. Had to manage my own finances and my time because no one was there to help me. Kelly H - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
Definitely worthwhile! I had to motivate myself to stay on top of the readings each week, but still learned a lot in classes they are not offered at Wellesley. I enjoyed being able to travel around Europe so easily. Katie D - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was something I had always wanted to do, and finally doing it gave me immeasurable happiness. I met amazing people that I am still in touch with, and am waiting for the day when I can go back. Laura H - Barnard College View Entire Review

The University of Edinburgh provided a great experience by allowing you to determine what you wished to do while abroad. You were allowed to be as involved or uninvolved in the University activities and they put you in housing with local students. My involvement in this experience has certainly changed my perspective on life, ... Keith H - SUNY Purchase View Entire Review

I fell in love with Edinburgh. It is an old and gray and strange city, but I never found it to be depressing, even in the extended winter darkness. It was steeped in history in a way that I found endlessly fascinating. This is a love I'll take with me for the rest of my life. After studying abroad in the UK for one semester, I'm... It was definitely worthwhile. I understand a bit more about how people interact and I also became more knowledgeable of myself. It has impacted my future plans because while before it was a shadowy possibility, I now want to return to the U.K. and will be applying for jobs there. After going abroad for a year, I know that I ... Sarika N - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I lived completely independently. I had an apartment with wonderful flatmates, did my own grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning. I could walk anywhere I wanted to go. I could travel the world with my friends - Europe was right at our back door. It was the most freeing experience I have ever had. Courtney R - Tulane University View Entire Review
It was the best experience I could have wished for. I would never give up any of it. I do wish that I had met more actually scottish people though I met amazing American students while abroad who I am planning on seeing back in the States. Brianna M - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned so much about the world, and moreover MYSELF! You discover your weaknesses and strengths, especially when it comes to meeting new people and being in a completely new place. Studying abroad, no matter what country it is, will open up your mind, and make you see how completely shallow the American way of life is (unfo... Maeghan D - SUNY - Binghamton View Entire Review
I am really happy I went abroad because it gave me the opportunity to have a different college experience and at the same time give me a chance to realize what I appreciate about my Wellesley college experience. Alexandra M - Wellesley College View Entire Review

About
Edinburgh offers a wide range of courses and you will be taught alongside students who enrolled on full degree courses in Edinburgh. We will always try to offer you a place on the courses you choose, but space may be limited in Honours level (3rd year) courses in popular subject areas. If you want to take Honours courses you need to show you have prior knowledge of the subject (a minimum of 3 or 4 University courses in the subject, which you passed with good grades). Meeting these requirements does not guarantee entry to a course, but we will try and offer you a suitable alternative if space is not available.
