What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Trust in my ability to be OK in a foreign country

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Although the actual, physical housing was pretty bad (mold, broken appliances, etc;) I can't speak highly enough about the flat system. I loved living with 3 other young women, 2 of whom were permanent students. It exposed me immediately to different cultures and was a way of instantly immersing myself in the University.

* Food:

I can't actually rate this because I wasn't in catered housing, so I bought/cooked my own food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I had a health question while I was there, and I found it extremely easy to register with the NHS (or whatever off-shoot of the NHS I registered with) and visit with a GP.

* Safety:

I felt perfectly comfortable running on my own (albeit it not at night) and walking around the city alone.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* Was housing included in your program cost? No
* Was food included in your program cost? No
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Check with flatmates before buying anything at the grocery store! We ended up with about 5 different salt dispensers.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Direct Enrollment
