I learned a lot of Italian in the limited time I was there, which absolutely made it worthwhile for me. A student - Reed College View Entire Review
Going abroad was the best thing I ever did for myself. It helped me gain confidence, introduced me to a different lifestyle, and gave me a serious appreciation for food as a social activity. It was incredible to see so much of the art and architecture I had studied for years, in person. Courtney - Syracuse University View Entire Review
I learned so many things it is impossible to write it all here. Mainly I learned about Italian culture, and I also learned a lot of practical skills. I learned how to travel, how to be patient, how to be uncomfortable and love it. I learned a lot about myself, and I wouldn't trade this experience for the world. Monica Reno - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I improved my sense of direction, street smarts, and got out of my comfort zone. I learned about another culture- and realized things that I liked better and missed about America. I became a more confident and independent individual, and met many new friends during my travels. Jamie B - Trinity University View Entire Review
It is hard to even express what I gained and learned from my experience abroad as it was the most worthwhile experience of my life thus far. I learned so much about Italian culture and living and truly became a resident of Florence and lived like a true Italian. I learned that I am capable of being independent and traveling arou... I was able to breathe, take a step back and look at my college decisions. I learned through different aspects of the culture, more about my self, my goals, and my own culture. This challenges me to think about ways that I can make an impact in the world, as an educated citizen. Victoria S - Syracuse University View Entire Review
My experience was absolutely worthwhile. I had an amazing time during my year in Florence, but that was definitely partially due to what I made of it. In the Syracuse program it was easy to become lost in the other 300 American students doing almost exactly what one would find at a university here in the US. It took some work to... Yes. I made amazing friends. I developed a strong relationship with my host family. I learned to be more independent especially because I couldn't talk to my mom as often. Ila H - Tufts University View Entire Review
Definitely! I really really enjoyed my study abroad experience in Florence! I think that I definitely changed as a person and I feel as if I may have a new academic approach this coming fall as well. It was also an experience to live with a different family and eat different food, meet different people, and explore the city. I w... A student View Entire Review
I gained some familiarity in Italian and I think that makes it worth it. I also learned some cool things about the Sicilian mafia in my class on the subject, and was able to travel around Italy quite a bit in my brief time there. I'd say it was worth it. A student - Reed College View Entire Review
I learned to be more independent, to plan and manage time, to adapt to new cicumstances and challenges and respect and appreciate a new culture. It was worthwhile as I grew personally, socially and developed more skills. A student - Trinity University View Entire Review
It was worthwhile because I learned how to be acclimated into a completely new environment. It gave me independence and a new outlook on the world. I learned so much about the Renaissance as many of my art history classes took place in the city of Florence itself, rather than in a classroom. I really gained a lot of knowledge f... I learned that I would really like to continue studying art history after graduating from Wellesley, and I gained an Italian mother and great friends. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I gained a greater sense of myself as a person and a greater sense of confidence. Getting lost lead me to some remarkable places that a map wouldn't tell me. I learned how to navigate the bus systems, that trains are a pleasant way of visiting the rest of Italy and that a car has never seemed so unnecessary. Walking around the c... I think it was worthwhile. Even though I had a lot of bad days while studying in Italy I learned things about myself that I wouldn't know now if I hadn't gone to Florence. A student - Fordham University View Entire Review
I fell in love with architecture, Florence, and all of Italy. I wish every single day since I left that I could go back. It was easily the greatest 3 and a half months of my life. Joseph M - Tufts University View Entire Review
