Overall Experience
it was certainly worthwhile. time management. explore theatre in different fields and cultures. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
The Advanced Directing program offered by NTI was one of the most rigorous and demanding experiences I've ever undergone. However, I wouldn't trade my time at NTI for anything - what I learned from guest directors and artists about myself and what kind of work I want to create was utterly invaluable. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I learned how to open my eyes and ears to the theatre all around me, how to be a better collaborator, I became a better writer and better actor, I learned I love to direct, I have a new interest in movement choreography, and I learned how to create without apology. - Brandeis University View Entire Review

More insight into possible professional careers, what I am capable of. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I gain self-confidence in this path of life I am choosing to go down. I was challenged to try disciplines I was less familiar with and discovered that I really enjoyed doing them. I made life long friends and collaborators and learned about myself and how I work. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I learned so much about myself, humanity, and of course theatre as a whole. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
The NTI Advanced Director Semester not only gave me the tools to begin a lifelong investigation of theater and its consequences, it also showed me compassion towards other artists and the need for art in American society. We are young and we are restless and NTI shows us how to focus those feelings in a constructive and effecti... - Saint Olaf College View Entire Review

There is no program around like NTI. After my 14 weeks, I felt confident that there was no theatrical challenge that I couldn't face and successfully complete. NTI pushed me to the limits of what I thought I could do in every area of the arts. I came to this program an actor looking to be challenged beyond what I was getting at ... - North Greenville University View Entire Review
I learned more about myself as a theatre artist in this short period of time then I thought possible. The intensity of the program pushes you to lean into the things that scare you and continue to learn. I learned how to be a better collaborator, a listener, an observer, and communicator. I discovered passions and skills I didn... - Ithaca College View Entire Review

Yes! It was good to take a break from Wellesley's academic environment and jump headfirst into the world of art. 24/7 art all the time. I can now do body rolls and a cartwheel when I stretch beforehand which is fun. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was most definitely worthwhile! Going to NTI was the best experience for me. I came out of the program feeling like a superhero because I knew I had transformed into an artist with an inexhaustible set of skills. For 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 14 weeks, I learned to make theater without excuses. I can move forward in ... - Wellesley College View Entire Review

Attending NTI was more than worthwhile-- I can't imagine myself without it. It was an incredible experience that has helped shape who I am as a collaborator and as a theatre artist. I took classes in acting, dramaturgy, yoga, voice, directing, design, playwriting, movement, and much more. The ensemble work that we did transforme... - Hampshire College View Entire Review
I learned that I don't have to be perfect all the time. I learned that my failures should not define but should be springboards to greater knowledge. I had to get out of my own way and then I was able to absorb, learn, and truly change. - University of Montevallo View Entire Review
