National Theater Institute: NTI Semester

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was most definitely worthwhile! Going to NTI was the best experience for me. I came out of the program feeling like a superhero because I knew I had transformed into an artist with an inexhaustible set of skills. For 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 14 weeks, I learned to make theater without excuses. I can move forward in life and know that nothing can hold me back from stretching my craft. The only limitations that exist are the ones that I set for myself. NTI has taught me to do away with the negativity and the doubt because I have the capacity for great work. I also learned from my conservatory experience that theater is everywhere and need not be confined within the walls of a traditional black box theater. I learned that a more physically limited space held greater potential for creative expression. Under the tutelage of compassionate, intelligent, talented working professionals, I made some of the best theater I have ever made in a rigorous, and intense, but nurturing environment. Please, if you are interested in attending, do so. Apply. Go for it!
