I just learned not to place all my learning and growth within the rigid lines of academia. There's so much to learn from conversations with people on the street. Wisdom comes from experience and experience comes from living and seeing and breathing and struggling and fighting, all of which anyone can have. So take advantage of t... I loved my home-stay! I love my host-family dearly and they showed me so much grace and invited me to family functions, church events, and even pick-up soccer games. Unfortunately, not everyone had this experience, so this is something to consider. Kyle Walden - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

My experience was absolutely worthwhile. It was hard at times. I have been away from home a lot before, but none of my experiences were like this one. I was thrown completely out of my comfort zone, was miserable for bits of the time, but I wouldn't change a single day. I learned to silence my mind and just observe and learn; I ... so much about dominican culture and living and learning in a foreign culture. Independence and the dominican lifestyle of valueing friends and loved ones. Great and very worthwhile. Heather W - Clark University - Worcester View Entire Review
I feel like I have learned so much about myself, and I know more about what I would like to do in the future. I did so many things that I had never done before (overnight bus by myself, traveled alone, learned how to surf, etc.), that I feel very confident in myself and my abilities. My study abroad experience was incredibly wor... A student - Tulane University View Entire Review

Yes. Gaining new things every day :) Eve D - Clark University View Entire Review
I honestly do not have enough words to articulate everything that I learned while abroad. It touched me on both a spiritual and individual level. I had to be alone in a country for 4 months and figure it out. I had to figure me out in order to survive. I use the word survive because instinctually as human beings, we respond to o... I learned so many things about myself, and I have a new sense of adventure! I gained confidence, Spanish skills, joy, and appreciation for the differences in not only cultures, but also individuals. It was completely worthwhile- everyone should study abroad if you have the slightest interest or opportunity. Hannah C - Hope College View Entire Review
Incredibly worthwhile. Became a more confident, adventurous person. In addition to learning the language and cultural. Mary Melissa D - Trinity University View Entire Review
GAINED WISDOM AND LIFE EXPERIENCE AND INDEPENDENCE AND CONFIDENCE! Abby P - Clark University - Worcester View Entire Review

Yes! I loved my study abroad experience - it was challenging, but empowering. Alison F - Clark University View Entire Review
Of course I increased my Spanish abilities and learned a lot about the country in general but I learned more about myself and how I am able to adjust quickly to cultures completely different from my own. I also learned to expect the unexpected and the more open you are to new things, the better overall experience you will have. Tessa S - Trinity University View Entire Review
It was definitely worthwhile. I gained a better perspective on how other people live and a desire to see and learn more about the world. Paige - Tulane University View Entire Review
