"It was a fantastic jump start and way to experience the industry I really want to work in and make connections with people actively working in said industry. "

"Oxford provided the BEST experience of my academic and social life. My tutorials were challenging, but yet I was still able to find a balance between work and play. I also got to explore ten countries across the European continent, which I otherwise would have found quite costly to do. I made some truly meaningful friendships wi..."

"It helped put things into perspective for me and gave me total independence in a way I've never had before. It helped me a lot with my own identity, especially since I am of German heritage. I am much more confident with traveling and planning things out, and I learned a lot about how countries outside of the US operate. I also ..."

"I gained a lot of independence and was able to explore my career options in Japan, due to the location and the support of the staff [I was a senior, and had an internship through the program]"
Alondra P Wellesley College
"My study abroad experience was worthwhile in ways that I cannot fully describe, probably ever. Choosing to study abroad in a developing country is a decision that is courageous, I think. Going somewhere that reveals your status as an upper-upper-class WORLD citizen (as opposed to your status as an American citizen) forces you to..."

"Yes! Travelling was a dream! I really learned about living with other people, too. Having a roommate in your own apartment and living in your own apartment is really not the same as a dorm. I think I really learned the responsibilities of real life. Culturally, travelling really opened my world, and I loved it!"
Heather L Wellesley College
"I learned a lot both personally and academically. I really enjoyed experiencing a different university system and gaining different insights."

"There is not enough space here to tell all that I have gained. It was most definitely worthwhile, I don't want to imagine what my life would be like if I had not gone on this adventure. I've learned so much about cultural appreciation and acknowledgement; for myself, I've learned about patience and self control."

"I became more independent, established a joy to life encouraged by the French lifestyle. "

"Yes, I learned to manage my life completely independent from my friends and family. "

"I gained a lot of independence. I was mortified of the idea of traveling alone and now I am pro at it. I also gained really close friendships with people from all over the world. I had never left the country before, so it was just an incredible experience that gave me a serious case of wanderlust. "

"This was the most worthwhile experience of my life. I learned a lot about myself by being in a place where I knew not one person going in and after 4 months came out with what I hope will be a group of lifelong friends. The best thing about Jacobs is the international community on campus. You learn so much from being in this com..."

"Studying abroad was my first time out of the United States. So I immediately gained a lot of perspective. Living in a foreign country was difficult at times, but well worth the experience. I enjoyed learning other people's perspectives on mathematics and other things, such as politics. I had a lot of great conversations. "
Melinda L Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile I learned so much-- not just for the language and the culture, but about independence and the like."

"I learned a lot about Taiwanese culture whilst improving my Chinese at the same time. I discovered that I could safely live on my own in Taiwan. It was definitely a worthwhile experience, I would love to go back."
Whitney F Wellesley College
"Oxford has the very unique tutorial system. This I thought was a fantastic way of learning, as not only did it teach me an immense amount about the subject, but it also taught me a lot about myself and how I learn. This is something that I will certainly take with me into my senior year, and I think will be immensely important a..."
Abigail J Wellesley College
"I got a lot more cultural insight into cross-strait relations and US-Taiwan perceptions from people my age, as well as a lot of confidence in my Mandarin speaking abilities. Totally worthwhile, if anything I wish the program was longer."
Lilia B Wellesley College
"It is worthwhile for someone wanting to study advanced math."
