There is a range of facilities on campus to support and enhance learning including the commuter lounge, library, accommodation and sports facilities. We are currently upgrading our student facilities to further improve our offering to students.
Founded in 1850, St Mary's University has a long and distinguished history within Higher Education From its original intake of just six students, St Mary’s has grown to around 6,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across four academic schools and offers a wide range of degree programmes including humanities, law, psychology, sports science, education, and many others.
The Students’ Union (SMSU) is the official representative body for all undergraduates and postgraduates.
SMSU has over 30 sports clubs as well as numerous societies. The sports teams play in some of the highest leagues in BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) and our societies are active throughout the year, which means that there is always something to get involved with. Just some of the social events organised throughout the year include Welcome Fortnight, the annual West London Sports Varsity, Club nights and the Summer Ball and Boat Party.
Students can also become a Programme Representative, join the Executive Team, SMSU Council or join an SMSU Committee.
We have an excellent reputation for sport and 12 of our students competed in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
Our facilities are also used by some of the world’s best athletes including alumni Mo Farah, Andrew Osagie, and Paralympian David Wier. This makes us an excellent choice for all, from budding athletes to those who play sport and keep fit for fun.
