"I learned that I don't really like studying that much. "
A student Middlebury College
"New Zealand life, history, geology, etc. Prepared me for thesis work and grad school. Everything was probably worthwhile. "
A student Middlebury College
"Yes very worthwhile. Learned a lot about Australia and how America is perceived from other parts of the world. "
A student Middlebury College
"It would do this program a hundred times again. During my stay in Copenhagen, I was able to travel with friends to Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Holland, Finland!, Portugal, and Belgium. I learned more about Europe, living in a welfare state, architecture, and making foreign friends for a lifetime than I could have ever..."
A student Middlebury College
"It was worthwhile and it's always great learning about different cultures!"
A student Middlebury College
"I got a good experience with some great people and I got to see what research is about. I don't know if it was worthwhile because, even though I did learn a bit, I feel like I could have learnt much more at my home institution."
A student Middlebury College
"I gained a lot of confidence and the feeling that I can cope with any situation. I felt for the first time that I understood a completely different way of looking at the world still entirely consistent with itself. I learned a lot of language. I realized how much where you grow up irrevocably shapes the way you look at the world..."
Amy S Middlebury College
"I learned how to cook for myself. Actually learned a lot about Renewable and Sustainable Energy, which is really cool. Wouldn't say it was as worthwhile as it would have been if I had been in a foreign language program or in a completely different type of society."
A student Middlebury College
"I got to travel an entire country and see every terrain possible. It was definitely worthwhile and I would highly suggest anyone to go to NZ. I learned a lot about the culture and the great outdoors. I loved that it is not very populated. The open country and mountains made the experience amazing! "
A student Middlebury College
"I saw so much of Europe and the number one thing I wanted to do when I was there was travel. It was definitely worthwhile and I'll never forget it!"
A student Middlebury College
"Academically it was extremely valuable. The people at Lincoln are great, and I look forward to going back as soon as I can. It is a great experience which I highly recommend. "
A student Middlebury College
"Oh my god. I can't answer this question in just one box. You'll have to contact me and we can hash out stories. I refuse to abbreviate all of these life shaping experiences into one teeny tiny box. No, thank you. "
Jessica F Middlebury College
"I learned how to live on my own for the first time, and I saw/did things that I will never see or do again. Worthwhile is an understatement."
A student Middlebury College
"Yes it was extremely worthwhile, mostly the area, city and people, but also the program. Most other classmates are all college graduates and all they want to do is intensive chinese, all the time. If your agenda is slightly different than this it may be strange, but it can still be an amazing experience in an amazing country/"

Emily C Middlebury College
"Definitely. Gained a lot of perspective and understanding about what I want to do with my life. Gained a ton of new friends who I'll now see every time I go home for break, and just had a great time. Coming back to Midd, I'm so happy and excited to be going back, but with a fresh perspective. It had gotten a bit routine last fal..."
A student Middlebury College
"It is hard to write what I gained/learned from my experience abroad as I feel for awhile I will be figuring that out slowly. I learned a whole new language and culture. I learned people's stories. I gained experience in indepenent research and how to be resourceful and build relationships/contacts. I learned how to be aggresive ..."
A student Middlebury College
"Probably more about the real world than I would ever actually learn through my middlebury experience"
A student Middlebury College
"I couldn't possibly fit into this small box everything I gained from my experience abroad. I gained a whole new way of looking at the world, which I didn't realize until returning to the States. It was the most worthwhile experience of my college career. "
Leah R Middlebury College
"I learned that I could throw myself into a wholly new situation that was challenging academically and succeed and have a great time. It was totally worthwhile "
A student Middlebury College
"It was definitely worthwhile. Academically, I've gained experience doing more personal research, for assignments and to just become more knowledgeable on a topic. Personally, I've gained more self-confidence in myself and my abilities. "
A student Middlebury College
"It was definitely worthwhile, and I got a lot out of it. While I've studied at different places/countries, going to the UK was very different from anywhere I had gone so far. I learnt a lot about British culture and loved experiencing it; I loved travelling around the UK and made some great friends at Nottingham. Not taking acco..."
