"I learned that I could really hack it out on my own. Even though, as an American college student, you have a lot of independence, being abroad and completely alone is a whole new ball game. I wasn't quite sure that I could do it but after spending an entire semester there, shopping for my own groceries, cooking my own meals, pla..."

"I enjoyed having access to resources on more niche topics/class that liberal arts schools like Middlebury don't often offer. Students have the chance to really take responsibility for their interests and education and take advantage of the resources and connections with the academic community at MIIS."

"Looking back, I'm not sure if I would have studied at St. Andrews for my Febmester. I think that I would have really enjoyed doing a backpacking trip in Asia or South America because I had spent time in Europe before doing my Febmester and it would have been great to try something different. I made some really great friends,..."

"Wow, that is difficult. As Suzuku Roshi says, "To study Buddhism is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self." I guess I have gotten to know my self a bit more intimately and thereby have learned to stop clinging to the idea of a self. I learned how to rationally prove that nothing neither exists nor doesn't ex..."
