"I learned that I love Medieval literature (and that I hate Quorn). It also gave me the space to figure out a few things about my life and my future that I don't think I would have (or at least not in the same time frame) if I hadn't gone"
A student Middlebury College
"I think it was definitely worthwhile. I really enjoyed experiencing a new culture and a new education system. I especially appreciated being able to travel frequently and see alot of Europe as well. "
A student Middlebury College
"The most valuable thing I learned from this semester is that education is not only for young people. This might sound naive but I had never met anyone who took classes while working before this semester and it was great to be in the same classes as those who've already had work experiences. They had a lot to offer in the class l..."

"Rome! I love Rome! It was worth it for a chance to live there, but academically, not what I was expecting at all, especially wrt to the rigor of the language classes."
A student Middlebury College
"I was definitely worthwhile. I would not be able to spend that much time abroad, especially in a place as far as New Zealand, at another point in my life, so I was really grateful to be able to do that. "

"I gained a much better understanding for how people in developing countries live and how perceive their situation. "Academically, I learned a lot about Bengali history, thinkers, philosophers and resistance movements in my history course. I also gained a new understanding of India's current right-wing political climate and the BJP by talking to my classmates, traveling to certain areas, and witnessing protests and political demonstrations. "I gained a lot of insight about myself, independence, a sense of calm, what I care about and what is not worth caring about, my role as an American citizen in the global world, the pros and cons of development; I expanded my view of the world and what is important to its continued success; what success means and is is so depende..."

"I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from the tutorials I took, great choral music experience, and an appreciation of necking pints at the pub. So yeah, worthwhile. "

"Because I had much free time outside of the architecture school, I got to work out, go to activities/events I was interested in, get to know people, and explore Ireland a lot. The course load was not too heavy, so my time at UCD feels more like a gap semester than college. I really appreciate the chance to escape the "big bubble..."
