Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I greatly appreciated the culture here in Australia, and think it was worthwhile; however, the rigorous school schedule made it very difficult to be able to travel and experience the whole country. "

"It was my first time abroad and I was more than happy to have done it. Hanyang ISS offered such a diverse, fun, and educational opportunity for me. I immersed myself in the language and culture in a place I dreamed of going to. We took fun field trips, had an international party, and more. The courses were great too and I was mo..."

"My experience abroad bolstered my confidence in ways I never expected. I had to be completely self-reliant; I had to cook for myself, make my own travel arrangements, navigate a new city and culture, and be willing to ask questions. At home, I'm surrounded by family and friends in a familiar environment; I can easily lean on tho..."

"Who knew one month could be so short, yet could also be so experienced to the fullest?! Four weeks in Seoul didn't seem like much at first, but somehow, HISS managed to pack in a wide variety of field trips and events alongside enriching and engaging classes, and nurtured many new friendships with students from all over the worl..."

"I would definitely reccommend studying abroad, especially for the whole year if you are going to London. It is a place that is new but still comfortable, you won't want to leave. It was only by being there the entire year that I was able to truly start to make a life there, getting an internship in fashion (a dream come true), a..."

"Learning in a different educational system was valuable. I met some amazing people, and a few have become some of my best friends. Traveling was important and wonderful as well. I think dealing with my depression truly alone without the support of Wellesley and my friends was the hardest thing. However, learning from it was trul..."

"I met many people from outside Canada--mostly Australians--but also students from Europe. More than academics, my study abroad was about new people and experiences. It's such a cliche, but very true."

"So worthwhile! I learnt so much more about the Korean culture and other cultures as well. Exchange programs really bring you out of your shell and Hanyang is so great at facilitating activities and classes that get you involved with local students and other international students. "Although the 6 weeks abroad were way too short, I've never learned so much during that short amount of time. Not only did I learn a lot about the Korean culture, I also learned a lot about myself. "I traveled a lot which I think was the most beneficial for me. I was scared to travel on my own when I first got there but started doing my own thing and ended up doing a lot of things by myself and I feel so much more confident in myself now for being able to do that and feel like I am a new, better version of me. I think exper..."
