All courses at CYA use the abundant resources in Athens and of what can be seen or experienced directly. The Archaeology and Art History courses provide a wealth of opportunities to study authentic material and original artifacts on-site, in the world-renowned museums of Athens and other Greek regions. Courses from other disciplines bring you in direct contact with the local community such as Anthropology, Environmental Studies, Political and Modern Greek, to name a few.
Field study is an integral part of the CYA program. Led by our faculty and experts with extensive knowledge of the relevant sites and locale, students have the opportunity to explore Greece and some of its most significant sites, which are among the most impressive and beautiful of the world.
Our CYA expert faculty and passionate staff are dedicated to offer students the best learning and life changing experience.

"CYA is an excellent program. I came into it expecting to learn certain things about myself, and it wasn't until I left that I realized that I had gained even more than that. The academics here are great, especially for an aspiring classicist or historian. The city is filled with so much to do at a generally affordable rate- with..."

"Being abroad taught me fully that there are so many other ways to live life other than the traditional American mode we are socialized into from birth. It is one thing to read about other cultures online or in a book; it is a completely different thing to live those cultures for yourself. So, I would say it was absolutely worthw..."

"The classes and professors were excellent. The administrators took a personal interest in students and helped us with our needs."
Audrey K Indiana University - Bloomington
"Living in Greece taught me that there are so many ways to live. In contrast to my experience in the United States, the work/life balance and slower pace of Grecian life reminded me that I have a choice in the life I create for myself. It also gave me a greater understanding of people all over the world."
A student Connecticut College
"I learned so much- and that you are capable of more than you think. That people/ strangers are so kind."
Kaitlin B Vassar College
"I would say collectively the most important thing I learned while I was abroad is to always push your comfort zones when you are given the opportunities. Doing this in Greece allowed me to deepen my understanding of things I already loved and expand my scope to new interests and passions. "

A student Lafayette College
"The knowledge I gained and the people I met expanded my view of the world tenfold. Had I not studied abroad, the entire treasure trove of rich archaeological, social, and cultural history that is Greece would remain hidden from me."

Lillian M George Washington University
"Of all the things I learned during my time in Greece, I think the most important was how to look at my own life in the U.S. from an international perspective. Seeing the culture of another place made it a lot clearer what aspects of life in the U.S. were more culturally entrenched than I had previously thought, and it's motivate..."

A student University of Rochester
"1000% worthwhile. Learned so much about myself and grew so much by experiencing new cultures, languages, people, etc. Traveled every weekend of my four months abroad except for 3.
