About

Up with People is a unique semester-long study abroad experience that combines elements of International Education, Service Learning, and Performing Arts.  Our participants come from 15-20 countries each semester, and travel together around the world for 22 weeks, visiting 17-20 cities on at least two continents.  Participants stay in host families in each city they visit, providing an opportunity to learn first-hand about the local culture and community.  Each visit is one week in duration, and includes multiple community service projects (1000 hours collectively in each city), as well as educational tours, speakers, and lectures.  At the end of each week, participants put on a two-hour musical show featuring a combination of international hits and original Up with People music.  Musical talent and/or experience are not a requirement for the Up with People program.

Programs begin in January and July of each year.  Financial aid awards are applicable to the Up with People travel experience and participants can earn a full semester of college credit (12 credits total).
