About

PittMAP is a global academic program that offers you a full semester of study with a focus on health, migration, and society.  Three countries offering three distinct views on these topics allow you to get a global perspective on modern issues.

Begin the program working your way from Madrid to south Spain.  The Alhambra, an ancient Moorish palace, overlooks Granada, where you will spend the first portion of the program.  With an influx of immigrants from North Africa, Spain is an ideal location to study immigration issues in Europe.

Next, a ferry ride lands you in Morocco, where you will spend nearly two weeks exploring the culture of Northern Africa.  Meander the markets of Meknes and experience the beauty of the desert during a two-night camping trip.  Local guest lectures and historic site visits help to situate immigration issues from a North African context.

The bustling city of Beijing serves as your final stop on your 'round the world journey.  Explore issues of human rights and regional health practices in a dynamic and ever-changing city.  Hike the Great Wall and discover the secrets of the Forbidden City, Temple of Heavan, and more.
