Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Summer 2009

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Academics was the weakest part of my experience. I was frustrated by the lack of organization by professors, professors showing up to class late, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I thought the Tufts residential director/office did a great job. They were helpful and very available.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I loved my family. They were one of my favorite things about the experience. I had 3 host sisters, a great house, and I felt at home.

My house, family, location were great.

* Food:

My family's eating habits were very close to my own so I was happy.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I liked the program trips and activities.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

no problems

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? None because of the money giving for food and transportation by Tufts
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? no advice

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Advanced
Language acquisition improvement?

I think my Spanish greatly improved. My understanding by the end was great; my speaking could still use more practice, but that is always the case.
