In Costa Rica I gained so much: an appreciation for slow, people-oriented culture that doesn't rush from one task to the next; a glimpse into another part of the world; immense improvement of my Spanish skills; a new mama; incredible new friends, Tico and American; a sense of confidence about my ability to travel and enjoy exper... - University of Houston View Entire Review

August 07, 2017 Let's Go Again
I learned that we are so fortunate with what we have in the states and take it for granted. In Costa Rica there is not much, but family is what keeps them going and simply being alive everyday is a gift. - University of Texas - San Antonio View Entire Review
I learned more Spanish in 6 weeks than I ever would have here in Houston, and I am surrounded by Hispanic culture here. I made friends for a lifetime and gained an appreciation for a culture other than my own. - University of Houston View Entire Review
I gained a sense of confidence in trying to speak spanish. I also got a sense of what the lifestyle is of a typical family in Costa Rica. It was definitely worthwhile, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. - University of Kentucky View Entire Review
While learning Spanish I got to explore a new culture in a place that was completely foreign to me. It was absolutely worthwhile as I have had an incredible experience here and would highly recommend the program to anyone who is interested in studying abroad. - University of Houston View Entire Review

I gained a lot more independence, even more than I got when I moved to college. Being "on your own" in a different culture requires you to step out of your comfort zone and figure things out a lot more than being "on your own" in your own culture does. It was totally worthwhile, and I made a lot of memories that I will never for... - University of Evansville View Entire Review

June 24, 2017 Found A Piece Of Me
My language increased more than I could have imagined and it did so without me realizing it until the end of the trip. I was communicating with locals without thinking twice or being nervous. I also met friends from all over the country. As a traveler, that is so exciting and I love having connections all over the country! - College of Saint Benedict and Saint Johns University View Entire Review
