I gain a self-awareness un-paralled to any previous experience. I encountered true diversity in a historical setting. In addition to learning academically I also gained a lot of knowledge culturally/socially. Best choice I've ever made. A student - Millsaps College View Entire Review
About
Start your best summer in Europe with Prague Summer Schools. Applications for July 2024 open now.
Prague Summer Schools are weeklong academic programs from June 29th to July 6th, 2024, organized annually by SCHOLA EMPIRICA, a Prague-based NGO. Our summer schools cover a broad range of disciplines within social sciences including European politics, economics, psychology, education, or behavioral sciences and focus on current developments using state-of-the-art research. Prague Summer Schools were launched more than 21 years ago, with the aim to bring together motivated undergraduate and graduate students of various academic backgrounds coming from different parts of the world to enjoy their holidays in a unique learning and cultural environment. International academics and practitioners joint together with Prague Summer Schools management staff ensure that each summer school tackles important real-world problems from social, economic and political perspectives.
Our aim is to contribute to an understanding of crucial contemporary challenges while fostering the international dialogue. We founded Prague Summer Schools because we believe that the exchange of views among individuals coming from different academic and cultural backgrounds, based on high-quality information provided during lectures, greatly develops the understanding of internationally relevant issues and may have a significant impact on the world’s future. The aim of Prague Summer Schools is to increase the students’ understanding of competing opinions and relevant research about the topic of their choice allowing them to form their own critical understanding of the addressed issues.
Students may choose one among the following programs:
Prague Summer Schools on Crime Law and Psychology is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge about the application of psychological approaches and research methods in the processes and practices of the criminal justice system.
Prague Summer Schools on Behavioral Economics and Psychology provides students with a unique opportunity to learn about the implications of behavioral research for policy making as well as its practical application to the realm of organizational management. In order to better understand research methods, the participants will design and conduct their own experiments under the supervision of the lecturers
The Prague Summer School on Education: The Future of School will address the issues of effective teaching and mediating knowledge in the current world. We will investigate the role of the teachers, explore the new trends in teaching and look into their effectiveness. We will also examine how other social agents – parents, tutors, and peers – (may) contribute to the education process.
The Prague Summer School on Development, Sustainability and Globalization will provide students with a deeper understanding of development challenges by addressing political, economic, technological and environmental aspects related to development cooperation.
Program fee:
The program fee for EarlyBird applications (February 10, 2024): 840 EUR
The program fee for students who submit their applications after February 10, 2024: 890 EUR
