Spain is nice, pleasant, and good. Past Review

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Didn't have to work very hard, felt pretty detached from classes as there wasn't much to work on. Had a good time socially, in town and on excursions, but I don't feel like I ever actually had to sit down and work.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It was a pretty laid back program. Taking five of six possible classes, I found I had enough time to run/work out, go to class, study/get homework done, and go out most nights. Although Spain was a blast and I enjoyed all of our cultural/historical excursions, I am not likely to return to the country- I just am not in love with it. The professors in the CLM tend to be very personable, Mark and Maria are amazing; they can and will take care of anything for you. From what I heard, most homestays went great, although there were a few issues. Finally, grading is easy- because we're accustomed to receiving higher notes, a couple of points are added to your grade at the end of the semester.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

I spoke Spanish, in Spain with Spaniards and non-spaniards. Many could understand some degree of English, but Spanish was used every day. I felt I learned quite a bit and definitely gained confidence.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
