Pablo de Olavide University: Seville - Multidisciplinary Studies Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My experience was good because I made up my mind that I was not going to let the school and my host mom get me down.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Enormous workload. Took away from seeing the city of Sevilla.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My host mom did not make me feel comfortable in her home, it seemed like she was using me for the money and didnt try to hide it.

* Food:

My host mom didnt take into consideration what we liked to eat and she never served us anything but tap water at lunch and dinner.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I was direct exchange and that was really hard because we had to do everything on our own. but take as many trips as you can, it's worth it.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I always felt safe but i was always very aware of my surroundings.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I spent alot more on bus tickets than i ever thought i would. i paid too much for housing for the way i got treated.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Go through a program, do no do direct exchange with NMSU. I did not like pablo de olavide
