I got to learn a lot about the city of Valparaíso and lived in a city for the first time. I definitely learned the most through my internship in a local preschool, where I assisted the teachers with daily activities and helped implement a composting campaign in the school. My time abroad was incredibly worthwhile. I gained and learned so much from my experience in Chile, I could probably talk about it for hours. A few key points are: First of all I gained a large network of "family" and friends that I know I'll keep in contact with. I was able to improve my Spanish greatly, at the end of my last... I learned so much about independence and navigating new situations, as well as communicating across language barriers and cultures. Difficult at times, but definitely worthwhile. Sarah Padgett - Wesleyan University View Entire Review
I learned to be a more rounded and open minded person that is more willing to improvise in uncomfortable situations. It was so worthwhile, even if only to learn Spanish. Michalina Lerska - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned so much about the health system in Chile and how to interact with patients there. I learned less about the history/culture than I had thought I would because I had to invest so much time in my classes. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned a lot about independence and how to manage being alone in an unfamiliar environment. My spanish improved immensely, and I learned that I am capable of building a life and community for myself anywhere in the world. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review

SUPER WORTHWHILE. I learned so much about myself, the wonders of travelling and the beauty of exploring new places and cultures. I really pushed myself out of my comfort zone and grew a lot. Although i left early my experience in Chile was wonderful and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. And the decision to leave was i... Courtney d - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Absolutely worthwhile. I learned so much and I think the design of the program is wonderful. I love the independence, the encouragement of cultural and linguistic immersion, and the ability to generally live as if I were Chilean. I think the program is build on a wonderful foundation but I think a few things could definitely be ... A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

So so much. A student - Pomona College View Entire Review
Perseverance. Obviously in the beginning it was tough with the language, especially because Chile has their own "version" of Spanish with lots of slang. But I truly learned how to overcome challenges and make the best out of it all. Helene Sudac - Bates College View Entire Review
Yeahs sure. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
My Spanish got a LOT better. I learned I can make a life in a new place and that it's ok to feel super challenged and make mistakes and learn from them... I also learned that being uncomfortable in a situation is ok (obviously as long as it's safe). It's good to be in new positions even if they aren't familiar. I gained a lot from living and interacting with so many locals. The experience truly gave me the opportunity to immerse myself into Chilean culture and for that reason, I found it incredibly worthwhile. Not to mention, my Spanish improved immensely! I obviously gained a strong appreciation for the Chilean culture and language, and my ability to meet and connect with people from very different backgrounds from my own was amazing. Emily Neel - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I want to go back; working in South America will definitely be a part of my future. It was absolutely worth while. Grace Monk - Brown University View Entire Review
I gained confidence in being able to maneuver a foreign city in a different language all by myself. I am proud of becoming so fluent in the language! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I gained a new sense of independence and personal worth because I was able to create a life in a different language and culture. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Very worthwhile, but I would not have gone with middlebury. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned how to be uncomfortable. It‘s awkward to not be fluent in the language of a society. In addition to language, there‘re cultural differences too. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
