About

Instead of concentrating an entire semester in either Florence or Tuscania, experience both Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici sites with the Two Italies program! Walking to classes in Florence’s historical center, the entirety of which is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, LdM students enjoy jewels of the city and marvel at its beauty. Owing to Tuscania’s smaller size and its unique geography, students are immersed in a typical Italian environment where they interact closely with the local community. By living and studying in both the city and Italian countryside, students learn to recognize local and regional differences, and gain a more complex understanding of contemporary Italy.

A set schedule of five courses introduces students to Italian language and culture, Florence’s ancient roots, wine business and marketing, philosophical and psychological approaches to the subject of happiness, and global development of sustainable food sources. This program is ideal for undergraduates who want to fulfill general education requirements abroad.
