Just one more semester... Past Review

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was definitely a worthwhile experience. I made a lot of friends, gained a lot of educational experience from working in a research lab and taking graduate level courses, and also was exposed to a lot of culture and diversity without traveling far from the university.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I definitely had a nice spending budget that allowed me to do more traveling and splurging than a student with an average budget. But I wouldn't say it was very much. Had I done a better job of budgeting and tracking my expenses the funds would've lasted me longer.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100/week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Plan travels when in advance. Sometimes you can get lucky and find cheap travel arrangements, but it is best to have things figured out before. Also I would try my best to pack meals from the serveries. It saves a bunch and you'd be surprised how full bread can make you.
