IFSA: Buenos Aires - Argentine Universities Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My semester in Buenos Aires was a lifechanging experience. My IFSA classes especially enhanced this experience by teaching me about the history and culture of Argentina. It was 100% worthwhile!

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The IFSA program classes were amazing! La Argentina Peronista and Derechos Humanos en Argentina were some of my favorite classes I have ever taken. The professors are experts and there are really awesome field trips. My classes at USAL were ok, but not very challenging.

On-site administration of your program

The IFSA staff are really attentive during the first week of the program. They greet you at the airport and get you a taxi, which is really helpful. Orientation is really informative.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My host parents were amazing! I had no issues and they gave me lots of privacy. The apartment was really nice and in a good location.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Most of the local students had no interest in talking to the international students.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I contacted the doctor and had an appointment the same day.

* Safety:

I very rarely felt unsafe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

The IFSA classes and staff were amazing.

They insisted that we only speak Spanish while in the IFSA office.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had access to reviews of the classes at the host universities. Some of them were not great for international students.
