Fairleigh Dickinson University: Oxfordshire - Semester at Wroxton College

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Of course this program is worthwhile. I learned that not only do I love traveling but I am willing to go anywhere for work.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The work load is hard and a lot, however the professors are more than willing to help. The tutorials you take part in every week allow you to truly get involved in the class setting. All the professors are willing to help you if you need it.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The rooms you stay in are extremely comfy and welcoming. I will forever love my cleaning lady Kim and room 41. Getting to know them on a personal level allowed her to become my mom away from my mom. I truly felt involved in her life.

* Food:

Mac and Cheese were my favorite days and the chocolate chip cookies the soft and good ones should become an everyday tea time snack!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved the local culture and felt very welcomed. By the end of the 15 weeks, I would consider myself a local.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Ron and Zoe did an amazing job making us feel safe during the weekends especially when I would be coming back from MOOMOOS. I enjoyed the fire card system.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

This program is amazing and there is nothing I would change! I think everyone should study abroad if given the opportunity.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Very easy, they supplied all the meals so I spent most money out traveling to other places or buying gifts !

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Less than 100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I went abroad with 5,000 and still came home with money. Traveling to other places is a lot cheaper especially if you get airbnbs and look into public transit.
