CIEE: Seville - Teaching Development

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Not only did I improve my Spanish and learn a lot from the classes in my program, but the CIEE TDP program taught me how to be a good teacher and all nine of us in the program really got a chance to bond and compare notes on how we were teaching our classes.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Specific goal of teaching
  • Seville is a great place to practice Spanish
  • The TDP classes were very helpful
* What could be improved?
  • More advanced notice in syllabi and events
  • Start observing and teaching sooner
  • A day of rest in between finals and travelling home
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had known more about international travel, there were some moments where I had no idea what to do. It's not necessarily CIEE's fault, they prepared us for how to arrive to Seville, rather I was ignorant to some of the procedures and that caused more stress than necessary.
