It was definitely worthwhile. I had no previous experience with Arabic, and was able to learn some basics. - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I learned so much about Islam, feminism, colonization, and education in the Moroccan context. It was a great experience. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I definitely learned more outside of the classroom than inside of it, but I believe that is part of the study abroad experience. This was a really valuable experience to me. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I truly loved the people and cannot wait to go back. By living side by side with a Moroccan host family and immersing myself in the culture I really opened my eyes to a beautiful culture and enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience. - Ursinus College View Entire Review
I learned that there are other ways of living and I like them more than America's. And yes, it was. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review

Absolutely worthwhile; I felt like I learned more than I have ever learned in my life each day, from strangers, family, American friends, and teachers. I learned to accept what I can't change, and to work with what I can. Open minds are key and judgement is not worth it. - Tufts University View Entire Review
A good understanding of Moroccan lifestyle. It wasn't a crazy party experience at all, there was much more just sitting and absorbing and relaxing. I liked to spend time with my host family and just do what they did on a daily basis with them. I also gained a lot of independence and travel confidence. - University of Michigan - Ann Arbor View Entire Review
It showed me that no mater how different the culture we all laugh, cry, and play in very much the same ways. - Indiana University - Bloomington View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was absolutely worthwhile. I have changed and become more globally-aware. I wasn't sure if I would find Arabic too difficult or uninteresting, but I have found another language that I love. I have made good friends in another country and learned to be more independent. Morocco is somewhere I would like... View Entire Review
This program made coming back to America harder than I ever thought it would. It's not if I do or don't regret going, it's if I do or don't regret coming back! I loved my time in Morocco, and it has helped me feel more comfortable with the fact that I don't have the rest of my life planned out to the day. - University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with CIEE: Rabat - Language and Culture
I improved my Arabic, especially my conversational skills and my Darija. I learned extensively about the culture of Morocco, including the history, politics, and religion of the country. As well as that, I learned about the culture and history of the Magreb and of the Middle East, particularly in regards to the Arab Spring. I le... - Birmingham-Southern College View Entire Review

I learned about the effects of French and Spanish colonialism on the every day life of Moroccans. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
This study abroad experience challenged me constantly as I had to constantly adapt to new situations and use a colloquial language that had previously been completely unknown to me. Not only was it excellent to learn about a new culture, it was amazing to be able to participate in it with my host family. I learned more about the... - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I grew a deep appreciation for the fortitude that Moroccans exhibit in an everyday setting. It made me appreciate, and disdain all the same, the convenience with which we live with here in America. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I was finally able to start my studies of Arabic and feel much more comfortable traveling overseas. My French is also much better. It was absolutely a worthwhile experience, and I hope to be able to visit Morocco again in the future. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
It was the most worthwhile thing I have done since I started college. I will never forget my time abroad, and I have made many friends who I intend to keep in touch with for the rest of my life. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes, absolutely. I learned a lot about myself and changed a lot in a very healthy way. I learned the importance of slowing down, of appreciating the small things in life, and of accepting cultural differences. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned that there are many different types of people in this world, and Americans aren't the only ones or the most important ones. This study abroad helped me to be more sensitive to other cultures. It has definitely changed me and made me want to travel more. I am currently planning a trip to Israel, and I wouldn't be doing ... - University of Oklahoma View Entire Review
