Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic separated from Great Britain to its east by the North Channel, the Irish Sea, and St George’s Channel. Politically, Ireland is divided between the Republic of Ireland (officially also named Ireland), which covers five-sixths of the island, and Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom, which covers the remaining area and is located in the northeast of the island. Find out what it is like to live as an Irish teenager while living with a host family and attending a local public high school.

Program Details:


  • 10, 5, or 3 month program starts in August

  • 5 or 3 month program starts in January

  • Must be between the ages of 14 and 18

  • School year begins in September

  • Placed with carefully selected host family

Application Deadlines: 11/30 for January, 6/30 for August
