The actual experience of being abroad and the aftermath are two different things. While abroad, I made lifelong friends in the nine other girls that were in the program. They saw me at some of my worst times, because living in a different country is hard and one can't be happy 100% of the time. I did find, however, that in the a... I had already lived 6+ years abroad, but going back on my own as a student was so much different. I loved getting involved in the culture and current events. I met so many amazing people with incredible life stories. Your time abroad will never be wasted. I have come back an entirely different person, and I know that if I want t... I learned a lot about myself, American & French culture, independence, and how to achieve goals. I also got to co-present a painting to the public at an event called "Nocturne du Louvre"with another student at the Louvre David S - Austin College View Entire Review
More language skills and learning to be really independent. It was definitely worthwhile. Stephanie O - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
My French improved by leaps and bounds. I learned how to move past worrying about translating and how accurate my grammar was and what my accent sounded like to just speaking and listening- which in turn improved my grammar and accent subconsciously! I learned more about how to navigate public transportation, and got a teeny tin... Elena G - Trinity University View Entire Review
Yes. If I had spent this semester at my home institution, I would have been so sheltered. There is so much to learn from someone from another country, and until you are put in the shoes of a "foreigner" you will never understand the outside world. Courtney N - Trinity University View Entire Review
I really enjoyed my semester abroad and would do it all over again, or course I might do some things differently, not that I know what to do. Caitlyn S - Austin College View Entire Review
I truly learned to be independent in a real world and how to handle stressful and difficult situations. I learned so much about another culture but most importantly about my own culture and my likes and dislikes. I grew as a person and learned that you never truly know everything there is to know because you can always keep lear... Andrea N - Trinity University View Entire Review
I learned that I can successfully find my way around a big city. My French improved so much, and I learned a lot about myself overall. It was such an amazing semester, and I wish I could do it all over again. Emily H - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
I learned more French than I did the entire year I took French classes when I was in High School. Diana S - Austin College View Entire Review

SO worthwhile. It gave me a definite edge when job hunting right out of college. It also sparked my interest in continuing to travel the world- and to always keep learning and exploring. Marianne C - Central College View Entire Review

About
Even more than a city for artists or foodies, Paris is a city for students. It was recently named the best city in the world for students by QS, an educational ranking organization. That’s good news for CCA students in Paris, who study French language while enjoying the many museums and cultural sites. Studying in France with CCA requires more than tours of the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre between stops at the corner bakery. It is a French language immersion program that engages you linguistically and culturally. You’ll be introduced to the other side of Paris – the multicultural one – while you eat couscous with North African immigrants and tutor children (in French) at a community center.
