Overall Experience
Most worthwhile experience. I made amazing friends and had the opportunity to explore the world. I learned so much about myself and realized I can do so much on my own. - Providence College View Entire Review
Gosh I learned so much about myself, my country, and how Australia and the USA fit into the global community. I can't believe I ever questioned whether or not to study in Australia. I have also studied in Europe (traveling to 9 countries there) and my Australian experience outdid them all hands down. - Fordham University View Entire Review
stepping outside your comfort zone is the best thing you can do for yourself. I went skydiving-something I never thought I'd do! - Brandeis University View Entire Review

I learned about a culture other than the U.S and this opened up my eyes to a new and different type of lifestyle. It made me want/plan to live in Sydney. It was definently a worthwhile experience and one I would love to do again - Trinity University View Entire Review

Yes - Trinity University View Entire Review
I learned how to relax and not preoccupy myself with unneccesary worries. I also learned a lot at my internship that I may not have had the opportunity to learn in the states because of my lack of previous experience. - Boston University View Entire Review
kj, - Fordham University View Entire Review
I learned how to live on my own from thousands of miles away from home. I learned how to budget my money. I learned how to associate with the people of Australia. I gained experience with my internship in the post-production field. Everything was absolutely worthwhile. - Fordham University View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with Boston University: Sydney - Sydney Internship Program
Living abroad taught me how narrow my scope of the world was before I came to Sydney, and I loved all the experiences I had and the people I met. The lifestyle and environment is completely different, and I hope I can go back again one day! - Boston University View Entire Review
Past Review Awesome
I gained a great deal. It was experienced unlike I've ever had in my life - Trinity University View Entire Review
I certainly gained an appreciation for Australian culture, but more so I feel like I matured or have atleast begun maturing in a way that is only understood once you graduate college. I was in the real world working, not just taking classes. It was very worthwhile. - Trinity University View Entire Review

A student studying abroad with Boston University: Sydney - Sydney Internship Program
It was invaluable. I learned how to be independent, social, a hard worker, and push myself to go on adventures that I normally would not have. - Fordham University View Entire Review
I have learned to judge things less quickly, to navigate myself around busy cities and up and down the coast of a county, to work real hours at an internship and to treasure all connections made, even halfway around the world. - Villanova University View Entire Review
Yes, it was a great experience and definitely changed my views and plans. I would recommend studying abroad to everyone. - Villanova University View Entire Review
Yes! You just achieve a whole other level of independence by living abroad, especially if you go without your usual group of friends from home. It's a rare opportunity to travel to another part of the world and really immerse yourself in a different culture. - Boston University View Entire Review

About

Ready for the ultimate academic getaway? Sydney is your spot. It’s a world-class city. It’s far away. It’s English-speaking yet retains a Pacific-rim vibe. And the BU programs give students a unique perspective—both in the classroom and outside—on this glorious multicultural nation of Oz.

Most programs require students to take a popular Australian Culture and Society course. It’s taught in the BU Sydney Academic Center, which houses the program’s academic facilities, classrooms, library, computer room, and staff offices. (Students who’ve been on the Sydney program have especially high praise for the five full-time and three part-time BU support staff.)

Housing is on the outskirts of downtown near Darling Harbour. Studio apartments may consist of shared studio-type arrangements or large suites housing a larger number of students, but will always incorporate access to kitchen facilities as well as shared living space and bathroom/shower units.

Sydney and indeed all of Australia offer unbelievable opportunities to explore, from the Opera House, great shopping, and local beaches to Melbourne, the Great Barrier Reef, and even farther afield to New Zealand and Fiji.
