Boston University: Sydney - Sydney Internship Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to live on my own from thousands of miles away from home. I learned how to budget my money. I learned how to associate with the people of Australia. I gained experience with my internship in the post-production field. Everything was absolutely worthwhile.

Courses were not too challenging.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Single bedrooms in a 4 person apartment. Fully air-conditioned. 1 and half bathrooms, kitchen and living space.

* Food:

Food was not provided through the program. It was good, but expensive in the city.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I wish I met more Australians. However, this abroad program was all American students. Through the internship, however, I was able to meet Australians both my age and older.

Sydney, Australia is VERY expensive.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Save up, be prepared to spend a lot. Also, everything is a once in a lifetime opportunity so take advantage of it!
