API (Academic Programs International): Paris - Institut Catholique de Paris

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
This would take me too long to write here. I loved it. Life changing experience. Makes you change your perspective on your own life (at least hopefully it will)

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Very helpful. Always in the office to answer your questions. Planned lots of fun activities for us.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Wonderful host family. Miss them so much.

* Food:

It's France. The food is awesome. Although it can get a bit pricey being in Paris...

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Only there a month so.. c'est la vie.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Paris is a big city so there is always the issue of safety but if you follow their advice and think rationally you will be fine.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

i like to shop

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? No
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Anywhere from 150-200 (euros)
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you want to save money: don't go to bars (a CHEAP cocktail is 6-8 euros.. that will quickly add up, trust me); don't go shopping (fashion in Paris is unbeatable but if you're trying to do Europe on a budget you'd be best to stay away); try to cook a few of your own meals each week

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Intermediate
