Being abroad was so fulfilling, as a young undergrad and being placed somewhere completely foreign. It compels you to really find yourself.

Beirut has an irreplaceable spot in my heart. It wasn't as much the campus or the program, but the city itself. Lebanon as a country is mesmerizing, filled with vibrant people that will keep you on your toes. I made lifelong friends and connections there.

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent a decent amount, but it was mostly unnecessary/binge eating since I was mesmerized by the food.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Beirut is not expensive, but people will try to rip you off!

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I know how amazing it feels to live in Beirut, and that my goal is to pursue a career there!
