"I learned much about the cultural differences and similarities between the UK and the United States, as well as how to manage my money and travel on my own and much, much more."

"I feel like I grew as a person a lot. I feel like I gained a greater independence and a knowledge of a new city. I know a lot more about europe and the uk. I am more aware that I should be more attentive to world news not just the us news. I feel like I grew up a lot. I learned money management. It was very worthwhile. "

"definitely worthwhile realized life outside middlebury and how real life is because at midd you can forget you are in a bubble. i needed a university like notts because credits transferred back for my major but if i didnt need that i would pick something that allows more independant study and more exotic places though at least i..."

"I think I learned to appreciate the resources I have at Middlebury a lot more. It was really good to get away from Middlebury, both the school and the city/town for a bit; I needed to spend some time away from it. I also met a flatmate who I still talk to every day so I am thankful that through some power + luck, I was placed in..."

"I gained a more realistic view of the United Kingdom and an opportunity to explore the rest of Europe. More importantly, I experienced physics classes taught at a significantly larger university than my home institution. The experience was definitely worthwhile in terms of my enjoyment and in my exposure to different academic en..."

A student Middlebury College
"Totally worthwhile; a once in a lifetime experience. Learned so much about the relationship between America and foreign countries and I learned a lot about New Zealand culture. I also learned to be independent and entertain/care for myself for 5 months."

"I learned so much about Public Health, but I may have learned more about myself and my role in group dynamics. It was completely worthwhile."

"In terms of being a geology major, this program is fantastic. Field camp was very full of learning and stressful at times, but worth it. The semester studies were decent, especially the semester long independent project."

"I learned a lot about myself."
A student Middlebury College
"It was absolutely worthwhile. I learned so much about Edinburgh, a city I now love, and I gained a sense of independence at a large university that you just can't get at small liberal arts colleges."

"I learned that Scottish culture is not as different from American culture as I had expected, but that the way that we learn and the expectations of independence are. Yes, it was worthwhile."
Madeline M Middlebury College
"I learned a completely different academic approach to learning, much more based on independent study and scholarly research than my American experience. I learned how to travel well, how to adjust to a new city, to bond with and relate to a group of international friends, how to be optimistic, and to be more outgoing."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned a lot about myself and how I handle situations. I had a lot more independence over there and I think I learned a lot from it."
A student Middlebury College
"I gained a greater perspective on how a truly international city operates. It was definitely worth it. "
A student Middlebury College
"I think my biggest gain is to have learned how to live with/interact with locals in Delhi as individuals rather than view them through stereotypes. I learned to understand the ambitions and struggles of the Indian people."
Yuchen Zhu Middlebury College
"My time abroad was worthwhile. I loved the people I was with and the people I met. However, I cannot get over the block that I am a student first, and as a student the program somewhat failed me. "
A student Middlebury College
"I learned that, fortunately, in almost every major European city it's not too hard to find someone that speaks English. It was great to see the different cultures and to learn about our "cousins" (as they call us) across the pond in London. It was worthwhile and I would recommend it."
A student Middlebury College
"Absolutely worthwhile; I learned so much about myself, the places I was, and the subject matter of the program - however, this was largely due to my own personal drive/choices and the amazing students I was surrounded by rather than program-specific classroom time."
A student Middlebury College
"I am happy that I chose to go to Prague because I was somewhat naive to its eastern European aspect and the environment that I lived in there definitely gives me a totally different perspective on America and our history. If I had to reconsider what program I would go on, I think that I would have also looked into Copenhagen or ..."

""Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves ... Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you wil..."
