Wildlands Studies is a program provider offering 12 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Gap Year, and Research abroad programs in 11 countries such as Iceland, United States, Nepal, and French Polynesia.
Wildlands Studies field programs provide students with the rare opportunity to work side by side with educators and field researchers in some of the world’s most remarkable and dynamic ecosystems, studying wildlife habitat, conservation initiatives, environmental impact assessment, environmental policy, geologic and climatic factors that affect various habitats, and the relationship between culture and environment. Learning through direct experience and immersion, program teams consist of 8-16 undergraduates working with a lead instructor who provides onsite instruction and directs all field study activities. Each program grants 5-15 units of upper-division credit that easily transfers to the student’s home institution. Wildlands Studies students leave our programs well-versed in field research methods, data acquisition and connected to a global network of scientists and researchers. They set themselves apart when applying for internships, professional employment, or graduate school by citing the knowledge and experience cultivated during the program.
