Study Abroad with IES Abroad
"I gained so many valuable skills that can be applied to my everyday life no matter where I am living. The greatest thing I learned abroad was how big the world is yet how people at the core all really are the same, even if they have lived completely different lives. After traveling and seeing how other people live and interact w..."

"I learned more about my tendency to worry about things that are out of my control, and now I am a person who is a lot less preoccupied and a lot more chill. I also realized just how much the world has its eyes on America. The Spanish news covered a lot of American news, but I hardly ever hear news about Spain covered in America...."

"My semester in Chile taught me that being abroad is not at all like you often see it portrayed. When you're looking at another person's experience on Facebook or study abroad review sites, you tend to really be seeing a highlight reel: pictures from crazy parties, insane weekend trips, or other extraordinary moments. You never g..."

"My time in Vienna was an incredible experience. IES helped me find a balance between academics, exploration, and travel that made my time in Vienna exactly what I wanted. Unlike some other abroad programs, IES values a rigorous academic schedule that allows you to get the most out of the city by learning about it's past while yo..."

"My experience abroad with IES was so amazing it’s hard to describe with just one review. IES provided me with the opportunity to study abroad in Sydney, Australia during the Spring 2014 semester. "I learned that there are lovely people in Salamanca but the university system is really lacking. I probably could have found a better program (location-wise) to cater to my more demanding academic interests, but I can't say that I regret going to Salamanca due to all the friends I made and experiences I had."

"I learned more of the Japanese culture by being immersed in it and was not as in love with it as I had imagined. It is hard to really join Japanese society because it is famous for being so closed off and resistant to change or influence. This is both good and bad as a foreigner because you get the sense that even those who move..."

"I learned that traveling alone is a great time to learn about yourself while meeting random people from around the world. In my honest opinion it should be a requirement for all students. I really opens you up to other cultures and ways of thinking."
