Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I loved ACD I felt that even though the school was small it was a wonderful experience. I had the best time of my life and made some amazing friends. "I learned so much about myself, about the world around me and most importantly- about the greatest city on earth, London. It was worth every second and being abroad was the best time of my life."
A student Monmouth University
"More so than the language, there is quite a bit I learned about myself and living that I'm applying in my life today. There are some parts of Arab customs that I've adopted into my own."
A student The College of New Jersey
"I learned French! No, it's not useful, but it's fun. I definitely think everyone should be forced to spend time in Paris, because it teaches you to appreciate culture, sophistication, and how to behave. There's really no better business etiquette course! For someone like me, who's outgoing but not overly familiar with strangers,..."
A student The University of Texas at Austin

"I learned how to speak Spanish, how to travel on my own, and gained tons of confidence. You get lost sometimes, but nothing compares to the feeling of finding your way back! "Better ability to speak/understand spanish, lifelong connection with host parent and roommate, how to pack for nearly anything, how to get around in a country you barely know, I learned more about myself and how I handle unexpected things. It was a wonderful experience I wouldn't trade it for anything."
A student St Mary's University
"Studying abroad was one of the best experiences I've had. I was able to learn about and live in a culture I have always wanted to know more about. Living in a country gives you a perspective that you do not necessarily get in a classroom. There is nothing like being in the center of it all."
miya.kane.7 College of Notre Dame of Maryland
"I learned that the world is so much bigger than the bubble that is America. I met so many people from all over Europe, so I got to compare what my life and this country is like compared to theirs. There's something so exciting about going to a completely new place where you don't know anybody and having to figure everything out...."
Abby H The University of Texas at Austin

Kate W Colorado State University
"Absolutely. It was incredibly challenging and I was in over my head. I went to the largest city in Europe, where I speak zero of the language entirely alone without any sort of program. In retrospect, it was arrogant and stupid to do it that way and paralyzed me in the beginning. I had done the same in Argentina a few years back..."
A student Middlebury College
"After studying abroad, I became a lot more comfortable being independent and more comfortable in my own company. I lost the shyness, I would feel to speak in Spanish because I was proud to be actually living and surviving in Spain. It was the best decision I made, after deciding to go to university."
kay.augustus.3 Duquesne University
"I learned so much about myself. I navigated through foreign cities and realized how strong of an individual I was. On top of that, I gained many friendships that will last a lifetime. I couldn't be happier with my experience and part of me wishes that it had never ended."
