Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I learned that I am a lot better at handling stressful situations or situations that are not ideal than I had thought. I can now walk around in a city alone and with confidence because London is very easy to navigate and feel safe in (well, as safe as you can feel in a city without being ignorant). It was definitely worth while,..."

"Conversa was a great way to learn spanish and immerse myself in the Tico culture, but if I had to do it again, I would rather go to a program outside of th San Jose area, possibly something more rural. Santa Anna was really just a Costa Rican suburb. This was nice but a little daunting at times. But Conversa itself really is a g..."

"Living and studying in Rome along with traveling around Europe completely changed my life. To say that it was the best thing I have ever done for myself is an understatement. "How important it is plan and design travel plans for the region before you depart. It is cheap to travel in SE Asia so take advantage of that. Also be prepared for many group projects, and be aware that kids from different cultures have different study habits."

"I learned a lot about myself and it taught me how to manage my stress and be calm. But it also taught me how to appreciate being on my own more. For example, I traveled by myself to a few countries and it was so much fun and very relaxing because I got to do what I want to do. I travelled with friends and family too and that was..."

"I learned a lot about myself and how to be independent. Also how to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures all over the world.
