About
Jó napot! From beach resorts and wine vineyards to vibrant cities, Hungary is quickly being discovered as one of Central Europe's new hot spots.
While visiting the “heart and soul of Central Europe”, you’ll have the opportunity to attend concerts and learn traditional folk songs. You’ll hear live bands play music from around the world! The primary ethnic group in Hungary, the Magyars, have passed on food traditions and recipes like goulas, a spicy stew of meat, vegetables, and paprika. Hungarian cuisine will not disappoint you with its high quality ingredients of meats, fresh bread, cheese and spices inspired by the Magyars.
The Hungarian education system consists of three types of secondary schools: for those on an academic program, you will most likely be placed in a "gimnazium," which prepares students for college. Best known for their hospitality, your Hungarian host family will love welcoming you into their culture. Hungarian teenagers enjoy many of the same activities as Americans, including hanging out in cafes and going to concerts. However, with nine national parks and about 1,000 protected areas, you will no doubt be able to experience the outdoors too.
If you choose Hungary, you will experience plenty of spice - in food, festivities, and everyday life!
