About

The Junior Class Learning program in Auckland New Zealand offers students an opportunity to complete a full semester, 10 credit hour internship in an elementary or high school classroom.  A JCL contractor will supervise the internship, and students will simultaneously complete their 2 credit seminar online with a WMU professor.

Participating students will experience first hand the New Zealand school system, which is known throughout the world for its innovative approaches to teaching literacy.  During their stay in Auckland, students will be housed with a local family vetted by JCL, and there will be ample time for students to also learn about the natural beauty of New Zealand and the dozens of ethnic cultures in the schools and city.
