I thought the overall educational system was valuable in that it helped me to improve my foreign language skills (in this case French) but the educational system is very different in France and I learned to appreciate the American system more. |

I practiced French with my friends and my host family, so yes, I had to use language in everyday interactions. Often people spoke English but I tried to continue speaking French even if they began speaking English. |
