How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The professors were amazing and the university staff was even better! The classes were a little less structured than classes at my home university.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Dina and Tom were amazing! Dina took care of everyone and went above and beyond for us. She planned amazing trips!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The apartment was great! We were about 30 ft from the front of the university and the Plaka area was so fun to explore.

* Food:

The grocery store was a short walk away and there were always amazing restaurants around us

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

My group and I were sent back to the US due to the travel ban placed during the Corona outbreak. Webster and Dina were sure to keep us up to date on local and international news.

* Safety:

Athens felt safer than any large American city I have been in.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

After the Corona outbreak, if they offered to send us back I would be on the first plane out!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? When buying food, buy the items that are fully in greek they tend to be cheaper than the ones in english

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Academic or Linguist
You went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you!
